Dreamt I’d been invited to a Winter Solstice celebration hosted by the faeries. It was a gala affair with fancy clothes, bright decorations, music, and dancing. All the humans danced below, on the ground, as the faeries danced above, flying. It was quite the spectacle. Some of the humans started complaining about the arrangement. But one of the faeries explained: “You are the Beautiful Below. You may be beautiful, but you have to look up at us. We may be ugly, but we can look down on you.” The explanation was meant to show the balance in the system.

“That must be how the Seelie and Unseelie Courts work,” I thought to myself.
